Last year, a huge glitch turned all of my photos into errors. If you find any that I didn't replace, please email me at random-nespersonified@outlook.com

I Am Scrooge

I have finally found who I am descended from. Scrooge and the Grinch before him. Seriously, I do not like Christmas except for the break from school that comes around Christmas time. There is nothing like a big holiday to stir up family problems, attitudes, and bad moods. My house is like...I really don't know how to compare it....BLAH!! My mom is depressed because my sisters wont let her take any pictures, my bad sister is b**chy 24/7 because she wants to take complete control of all the projects we were working on as a surprise for mom. I am just holing up in my room, which I must say is quite boring. But I'm munching on Beef Jerky. :D Cuz my good sis, Emma, got me a HUGE package of it as a present. :) But yes, Christmas is certainly a depressing time. Sorry, if this makes no sense...I am weriting this very quickly. But I pity other people who have family gatherings, its just hectic! OK, I gtg. C y'all!

Dog Sitting

OK, so we're dog sitting and these people have two dogs. A big fluffy, cute, old porcupine puppy named Lucy,

and a dog that looks like its been run over by a truck and then...well....let me just show you....

then I realized that it looked a lot like that little bat creature on Star Wars Episode 6 that hangs out with Jabba the Hutt. Do you not see the resemblence?? THey could be from the same litter! :)

Stabbing Next Door

This Was a Facebook Post I made...

OK, I know everyone is going to say how awesome Cinderella was, and it was great (with its two standing ovations), but I'm going to fast-forward past losing my glasses at the performance and go straight to the 4-block drive home where my mom tells me that our next door neighbor (whom we know as the guy who has had the cops to his house 67 times) has been stabbed three times in the chest with a knife by a trio of guys who visits his house every so often.

Now that I've got a good attention-getter (be proud of me Mr. Young {english teacher}) I can rewind to about 7 months ago when our old Mexican neighbors (who were crazy about Cinco de Mayo) moved out and this new, weird guy (lets call him Adam) moved in. Now from the beginning everyone suspected he was shady, but turns out he's been moving a ton of drugs out of that house. Since his arrival, we've had all sorts of weird interactions, mostly with strange cars in weird places and middle-of-the-night meetings around the corner. The bad thing is that there's never been any proof. UNTIL, one day, about 3 weeks ago, my mom was outside and snapped some photos of three, new dudes transporting shoebox-sized containers out of the house. Yeah, bonus! So we called the cops, told them our story, and waited, and waited, but then finally deleted the pictures and forgot about it. We saw the cars still, but there was obviously nothing we could do. So we were just careful. Then, yesterday, we receive a phone message telling us that the police have connected our story with a near-fatal stabbing from two weeks ago. The nerve of those people! Wait two weeks without doing their job and then just off-handedly tell us about a stabbing next door by guys we see daily?! Yeah, whatever, but its kinda exciting and kinda creepy. Definitely going to take the long route home from school now eh? :)

Well, that combined with the body they took out of that house a couple of months ago makes this neighborhood kinda sketchy. Way to put the fear of God into ya huh?

Spiritual Maturity

I feel so proud of myself. At church tonight, our Youth Pastor, Nathan, asked all of us what we thought "Spiritual Maturity" meant. Well, this is my definition that I just kinda, on-the-spot made up, but I wanted to share it and ask what you guys thought.

"The constantly developing measurement of your following and understanding of God's Word and principles and how they apply to your daily life."

Yes, I was sure proud of sounding smart with big words for once, :) but do you agree with this? Is there another aspect that you think should be added? I just thought this was an interesting thought of the day....
So if you feel like it, share what comes to your mind after reading this. Even if it is rainbows or water buffalo. :) Thanks!

PS: And yes, I did recently see Veggietales. :D

Minecraft

Wow, we just had a 4-day weekend, and I did absolutely nothing but play Minecraft....well....at least until my java software started to reject it. Now I can't playz it. Sadness. Anyway, I started on peaceful and built (or dug) and now have found massive caverns surrounding the center of a volcano. Yeah, it pretty awesome. But I found out I have a knack for sniper archery. :) Pretty awesome. From what I've counted in my latest play times, I've killed 133 zombies, 68 skeleton archers, 47 creepers, 44 spiders, 1 slime, and 3 undermen. Not counting the villagers and animals I've killed. :D I love survival in blocks. Ok, so, yeah. Its an amazing game! And I recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. Definitely! :)

Althought Java sucks, just in general, so expect some minor problems. :)

Kitty Post #27

My cat got a little restless while my mom
fumbled with the camera. :)

So here she is, gnawing on my cheekbone. HAHA! Totally unrehearsed, but completely awesome! :) I know its been forever since I did one of these, but yeah. Here it is. And I think its worth it. :) So yeah, this is a really embarressing picture of me, all of my face seems messed up. -_-

The Pantry

SO my mom and I just finished cleaning out the pantry. Yeah, scary enough already. Anyway, in 1999, right before Y2K, my dad bought like 2 TONS of dried food in preparation for the upcoming (inferred) disaster. Anyway, we lived off of that for three years and still had hundreds of boxes, like half left. We gave most of it away to a family of 8 (now 9) in New York before we moved out here. During the move, we only took about 20 boxes with 6 cans per box. Anyway, high up in the pantry, we found some leftover....FROM 1999! Now I know its mostly still good, but it sounds disgusting anyway. So....here's some of the stuff we found...

Cheese Powder, yeah,  here's another....
Just looks wonderful doesn't it. Blah! Looked
bad so we threw it out.

Dried Bacon Bits: Mm-hmm, smelled like
rotting pork rinds.

Vegetable letter soup; I voted to trash it,
so we did, but still, really???

A pic of the vegetable soup...

Cocoa Mix. Still fine and fresh. Smelled great,
so I tried some and it tasted fine. :D Yea!

And this, looked Ok, tasted fine, keeper.

A completely sealed can that I tentatively opened
only to find some great Spaghetti noodles. :)
(Perfect timing, mom was debating on dinner tomorrow)

Oh, one thing that sucked though, was that
there was old honey stuck to the bottom of everything. :(

In the conclusion, I must regret that I forgot to take a picture, but we found 5 and a half cans of...what?....beans. Yes, beans of every shape and size you could ever imagine. Yikes! SO, I guess this also outlines my eating habits for the next few weeks huh? :) Anyway, its late, so I should go, but still, I've gotta ask...really?? :D I mean, I never knew my dad well, but he seemed like a complete psycho. Not just based on this. Actually, this was a good desicion I think, and it was good to prepare for the unexpected. Even so, I think it was a little overboard. I mean, seriously, 4,000 POUNDS!! XD

New Computer/ No more Jalapandro

Seeing as how I worked over the summer, all of my muulah went toward this new computer that I'm posting on right now; the Lenovo Z580 - 1 TB, 8 GB RAM, 14 inch screen, purple stainless steel-look, $1,200 dollar laptop that I got for 40% off ($700) with their back-to-school sale. OMG it's amazing. My other laptop from the 1700's have 20x less RAM, and 16x less memory. Yeah, and this has an all new Nvidia video card....awesome, with a 3rd generation Intel7 Processor for those of you who know what that means and can be jealous. :) Here's a Picture from the site...

....accept it has a nice, slight purple tint....I think it looks kind of purple in the pic... Anyway, it works like a charm....I LOVE it! And I think a good percentage of my pride comes from the fact that I worked hard for it and bought it all by myself....Yippee! OK, I might be posting more today so watch out. :) Oh, and by the way, with a new comptuer and all, I made completely new email accounts and connected everything, so my email now for this will be my email and my real name, Alex. No more Jalapandro.....

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

OK, so today, me and "the good sister," Emma, were craved chocolate covered pretzels, but store bought ones are pricey. SO we realized that its just pretzels dipped or covered in melted chocolate and hardened, so we found three different types of chocolate chips in the cabinet, milk chocolate, white chocolate, and butterscotch. The butterscotch were about two years old, but sealed and still good. Then we realized that we didn't have pretzels. Well, it took us about five minutes, but we finally found an old, OLD, OOOOLLDDD bag of Chex Mix in the back of the pantry and the pretzels were only a little stale. SO we melted the chocolate, chucked the Chex Mix pretzels in there, scooped them out with a spoon, and threw them in the freezer on a plate......

Pictures Coming....

Not the best picture, I know, but I think you can see it....Oh! and we put sprinkles on the white ones and they tasted like those yummy animal crackers. :D

First Day of Sophomore Year

SO today was the first day of my tenth grade school year. It was a half day. And afterwards, the student Senate had this AMAZING barbeque with the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had in my life! It was 6 bucks for the meal, and I didn't bring any money. SO I came and hung out with my friends Meg, Reah, Asia, Sarah, Matt, Emily (9), Shannon and Jenny. Then they announced that they had so much food that the already paid people could come back for seconds. SO I had Jenny go up and get a plate for me. :D Its was really good! Then I sat around and chatted with people....blah blah blah....it was very entertaining. Afterward, I played volleyball with Reah, Shannon, and taught Meg volleyball.... It was hysterical! We were laughing the entire time! THen only me and Meg were left, and since she stays there for an extra hour and a hlaf bored, I just stayed and we played volleyball more and were bored. :) My first period class is something that I really enjoy, so that's a great thing....it's called Web Design 1. :) SO I hope it helps me with my blog design, not that it isn't already fabby if I do say so myself....

Boggle

A BIT INAPPROPRIATE FOR LITTLE KIDS!!!

So me and my mom were playing Boggle, the game where you shake the cubes around and see how many words you can make out of the letters...the equivelent of BitWordy, the Facebook App. Anyway, she saw these six letters....

Photo

....she said, "Its Faggot!" XD

The Amazing Spiderman

I watched "The Amazing Spider-man" and I can honestly say its one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was AMAZING!! Andrew Garfield is an AMAZING actor! This Spider-man is completely different from the other ones and not just a remake. I mean, not to be prejudiced or whatever, but I never liked Tobey McGuire as the last Spider-man. Anyway, I absolutely LOVED it and I would recommend it to anyone, anytime, anywhere...except maybe at a funeral. :) But yeah, I loved all of the actors, Gwen was great, the new story was great. And it is definitely going on my favorites. Very Impressed!

Chronicle

So recently I saw the movie Chronicle....actually a while ago, but I haven't posted in weeks. Anyway, I would not recommend it for kids, or adults. Its pretty much just a teen movie. The camera view for the whole time is from the camera in the hands of the main character which is OBNOXIOUS!! The story is good....I guess. I thought it was a bit dark though, darker than I really enjoy. It is awesomely cool though, the fact that they can fly, the telekinesis, and the process in which they learn their powers extensions. I really liked the black dude (main guy) though; I didn't like how Andrew killed him. And its a bit unrealistic, the fact that Andrew's mind breaks (completely snaps) over his home life. Its bad, yes, but there are so many other stories that make his like a children's tale that it seems a bit weak of Andrew....just my opinion. Overall, I think its not worth paying money to watch. But that's for you decide for yourself. I would not recommend this to others.

Taking Apart My Computer...Again

------------------------------- Before Story ---------------------------------
To see the whole thing, let's start several years ago when my family went to visit my dad in Pennsylvania while he was on a short parole. He was staying at his moms house and (needless to say) it was hell being there. The only good thing was that during that time, my CREEPY/CRAZY Grandma funded a trip for our whole family to visit Washington DC for a day. It was fantastic! The bus was great, the monuments were amazing, the National Archives were incredible, and the Space Museum was breath-taking (at that age). The only disappointing part was the walk, the line at the archives, and the fact that we didn't get to visit the Library of Congress. Anyway, we didn't have a camera, but my dad let me take pics and vids on his little phone. Now I had forgotten that completely until four months ago I was digging through my electronics box and found it lying there. Then I remembered him telling me to keep it when we boarded the plane home. So I took the memory card out of the phone and stuck it in a little slot in my computer that said it read memory cards. Well, it was too small and I ended up accidentally pushing it all the way into the computer slot thing...wherever. I meant to take it appart then but got distracted and forgot all about it...

---------------------------------- Now --------------------------------------
So last night, I was bored, it was 11:15 pm, I couldn't go to sleep, and my whole family was snoring. (Yes, literally) So I decided to finally extract it from the computer because I really wanted to see the pictures from DC. So with as little noise as I possibly could, I fetched a screwdriver. The sound was catastrophic. I ended up dropping the screwdriver from four feet above the dryer and it echoed through the house. The dog came in and the cat followed, but thankfully no people. I waited a few minutes before moving and went back to my room. Taking the thing apart was fairly simple...

...but the SD Card reader is wedged under the motherboard, the green plate. So without dislodging the motherboard (or destroying it [too much]) I destroyed the SD slot trying to get the card out.

...for those of you who don't know, that is not the way the SD slot is suppoe to work. I accepted the fact that I could never use it again and kept digging and finally the Memory Card was in sight...

...and I got it! Yea...

...So then the problem was putting the computer back together. I didn't think it would be all that hard, but just to prove me wrong, it gave me some problems. The first of which being the (removed) disc, CD player...

...I broke the showing outside part off while trying to force it into its compartment. It wouldn't fit.so with some extra screws and a snap part, I finally connected the two parts again, but still couldn't get it into the slot. I managed to cram it in there, but I still don't know if it works. Hang on real quick...

(Sticking in the disc closest at hand, a Chessmaster 2000 disc)

The answer is no, my disk drive is no longer being recognized by the computer, I'll have to fix that. I finally got most of the computer back together...

...when I encountered my next problem. A slight deformity with the keyboard...

...That's not the way a keyboard is suppose to look ladies and gentlemen. When I turned it over, I freaked out and frantically searched for a sign of the cause. After 5 minutes I realized that I had put the long screw in the short screw hole and it had pushed the keys up. Yeah, fun. I ended up doing the same thing in another place and now the touchpad keyboard is unresponsive. Then I felt like I was done, everything looked swell. So I plugged it in and turned it on hoping that a flood of power wouldn't explode the demolished SD unit, or the disc drive, or my touchpad, or maybe the battery....pretty much my whole computer. :) Thankfully, nothing exploded and besides not booting up and shutting down every once in a while, it seems to be functioning properly. :D

.....And yes, my desktop picture is my cat in the Spearmint plant. :D

Golf Ball Collection - 76

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in like, two weeks, but they have been very busy weeks between caddying and helping renovate a neighbors garden... You know. But back to the now, remember when my golf ball collection consisted of two measly balls? Well, now I have amassed a army of 76 Golf Balls. Let me say that again...Seventy-Six! HAHA! Yeah, I'm pretty happy. I actually caddied today and found exactly twenty (20) golf balls...so....yeah. :)
So yes, I'm proud...

1st Year Anniversary!!!

Yea!! I made it through my first year of blogging! And, if you look back to June of last year. You'll see that my first post was about fireworks. That's fitting huh? Each year, my blog's birthday is celebrated by shooting rockets into the sky. :) But alas, it is not to be... Too bad the fire has caused so much terror and the rain has yet to come, that there are to be no fireworks in El Paso County. (Insert sad minor chords here) Anyway, today, were having a neighborhood get together at One in the Afternoon....of ALL girls!! Well, there is a newborn 3 month old baby boy but that's about it. Crap, Crud, and Crayola! :) Anyway, my mom got TONS of Coke and a package of XingTea...My FAVORITE!!! Hallelujah! (I can never spell halaylujia; I rely on spell check too much) So I get to hole up in my room fr the rest of the day........yippee

Waldo Canyon Fire

OK, so the real reason I haven't posted in a little bit, is because my computer was packed up in case of evacuation. Wow, last Tuesday was the worst night; we could see the flames over our neighbors rooftops. We were just on this side of the evacuation line. Anyway, once that night had passed, the winds shifted again, for the third time that week, bringing a close to the danger. We stayed packed though for a while just to be safe. In fact, I'm still packed, except for my computer. Moving on, we were going to like, set up a rally to hold posters and such trying to thank the Fire Fighters for all they've done. We still are planning it actually. You know, coordinating with the Sheriff's office is frustrating. :) Here's my (not-complete) poster I am working on.

I feel really proud because I did all of the drawing, outlining, coloring, shading, and I'm working on coloring the rest of the background black. :) Anyway, I think the fire is under control Colorado Springs-wise, but please continue to pray for all those who have lost their homes and those still in the way of the fire.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

OK, first, I am SOOOOO glad that they did Legend of Korra. And the last episode was AMAZING! OH, its was so great. I'm glad that she's finally the avatar and can air bend now. Now back in time to the original cartoon series which was still amazing. Oh, everything with bending is just amazing. I just wanted to share my favorite part of the last series with you. This is Sokka....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Caddie Journal - Day 1

Hey, this is an excerpt from my caddie Journal from my first day on June 9th. Its pretty comical, so I decided to let you guys read it. I had to star out the player last name because...well...read on. :) Enjoy!

Saturday, June 9, 2012 – Day 1

5:30 am. – I am on my way to my first day of caddying for real, not training, and the first little tidbits of nervousness hit me in the form of a level 10 migraine and the beginnings of fatal chronic stomach ache. I feel like I’m heading off to my death. I have no idea what this day may bring and I am making myself sick worrying about who I will get, if they’re friendly or not, if they walk fast, if they are going to make me search every bush on the Broadmoor Hotel Golf Course for lost balls, how hot it will be, where the water fountains are, whether or not I’ll even be picked today, how many other caddies will be there, if I would be in a group with other caddies, what if I freeze up and not remember what to do, if I hand the player the wrong club, what if I won’t be able to read the green, how I would be able to choke down my mom’s monstrous omelet in time, how heavy the bag will be, will my hair be in my way the entire time, what if the other caddies are mean, and most importantly when, not if, but when will I collapse?

7:00 am. – I am in the morning line up with a bunch of other caddies with most of my prior butterflies gone while talking to the next caddy in line in hushed tones. Bob Matte, our caddiemaster, approaches a golfer, talks for a second, then calls me over and introduces me to Dale *****. Yeah, what a name right? He’s like 6’7”, thin, older, short straight gray hair, and overall seems like a nice person. Anyway, I’m introduced to three other golfers in the group, two of whom are taking a cart, and one who is also walking with a caddie. The other man walking, with a first name of Chester and a last name that starts with G, picks his caddie, a kid about my age and size named Noah, and they all head over to the practice green to warm-up putt. With sheer terror I tentatively lift his bag putting to test the its weight. I am pleasantly surprised to find that it doesn’t weigh as much as I though and suddenly, I gained confidence that I might not collapse while on the course. It only weighs about thirty to forty pounds, maybe a little more. Anyway, after loading up with tees, ball markers, score cards, pin placements, distance booklets, wet towels, water bottles, and a couple of apples (they’re free to players and caddies), Noah and I set out to the first tee box on the West Course with our new masters for the next 4 to 5 hours. Its my first day, so Mr. Matte said he would hook me up with someone who didn’t need a lot of assistance so I could learn everything I needed, but nevertheless, I hope it turns out all right.

11:30 am. – Wow! That wasn’t so bad. I mean, I’m dead tired now, but I made it through, and at this point, that is a thing to celebrate. Turns out Mr. ***** was really nice and so were the others. He cracked a few jokes and talked with me almost the whole time, and gave me tips as to how to do things or how to unzip the cover to his golf clubs easier…yeah, talk about learning on the job. I can definitely say that caddie training did almost nothing for me except teach me some rules and stuff. But in training, we only went about 8-10 holes with light, almost empty bags. Shock there. They needed to have us carry 60 pound things to train our bodies because I did almost die from exhaustion out on the course. My legs are killing me! But it also turns out that Mr. ***** obviously didn’t golf as a profession. He hit 24 bunkers (a.k.a. sandtraps or sandpits) in the entire eighteen holes…maybe it just wasn’t his day. In fact, he hit three of the bunkers consecutively on the same hole. Unfortunately for me, caddies have to rake the sandtraps back to a nice smooth surface. And the entire hole was majorly uphill. So he drove the ball into the middle of the first bunker and hit it into the middle of the next bunker with a sand wedge. I made the mistake of saying “Right, into the next sandtrap.” Eek! Not something I should of said, and he reprimand me for it. Anyway, I, groaning on the inside, raked the first bunker and ran up to the next bunker with the rake and golf bag just in time to see him hit the ball right into the middle of the next sandtrap on the OPPOSITE side of the fairway! How in the world do you do that? Anyway, while cleaning and switching out his sand wedge for his 54˚ wedge (I think) with one hand, I raked the second bunker with the other, He went on up ahead leaving me to rake and hit the ball onto the green. I ran up to him and handed him his putter while wiping his 54 and shoving it into the bag while raking the sandtrap and chaotically motioning for Noah to pull the flag (something caddies have to do). I finally arrived at the green out of breath in time to clean his ball, place the marker, and take the flag from Noah and tend it for my player. You may have noticed that I underlined the words middle and ran. The middle of the sandtrap means that I have a TON of raking to do, and “ran” means that I ran from each bunker to the next with a golf bag on my bag uphill to get to Mr. ***** on time. Yeah, that hole wasn’t my favorite. J Anyway, I learned that he has a couple grandchildren, he lived in Texas…blah blah blah, I can’t remember half of it because I’m so dang tired. Anyway, I surprised him when he asked about my dad. The look on his face was priceless! Moving away from Mr. *****, overall, I got 30 bucks for working out and learning etiquette, and I realized that I really like the West Course, however uphill it may be.

To Save A Life

Jake Taylor, senior in high school, has everything he could want. Basketball scholarship, popularity, the hottest girl, and "friends" lined up. But then his life takes a drastic turn when his childhood friend who he has ignored for years, pulls out a gun in school and shoots himself. This causes Jake to think about how he could have saved his long lost friend, and takes the advice of a youth pastor to attend youth group and eventually leads him to become a Christian. But God immediately throws him into trials that will shake his faith to the core. It touched me in ways I thought only books could. And it made me think a lot, how even a simple gesture of kindness can make the difference between life and death. And then I looked back at the previous year, and I remember so many opportunities where I could have....i don't know....done SOMETHING. I recommend this movie to EVERYONE of ALL ages. It is fantastic and I really hope you all at least consider watching it. :) It's worth it. I promise.

Birthday!!

OK peeps, its my birthday, and normally I hate birthdays, but this has been amazing!! OK, first I watched all the Bourne Legacy movies this morning (AMAZING!!), then me and my mom went to Red Lobster, where I ate the best shrimp lobster fish dinner of my life. Then we went putt putt golfing and even though my mom is experienced in putt putt, I tied her for both games. :D Anyway, then we went out for slurpies at 7/11 and then came home for another movie. Also, my birthday present was a big bag of chocolate covered pretzels, but I kept making excuses to eat more. :) I ate the whole bag in the first movie. Yikes! And yeah, its been great, the only thing that could be better was if my sisters were gone...but whatever. Oh, and another present was theat I was finally allowed to get a facebook. And its awesome so far....I have like 50 friends now. :)

Caddying - The Real Deal

So I've been so busy lately caddying that I haven't had time to blog. I started full time caddying on Saturday and also did Sunday and Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday are my days off this week. Anyway, to Caddy, I get up at five o clock, make myself an omelet, get into my white jumpsuit, and drag my mom out of bed to drive me twenty minutes south to the Broadmoor Hotel. Yeah, fun right? Anyway, normally I do one loop a day. A loop is 18 holes, 4-5 hours, 4-5 miles, with 50-60 pounds on my back. Monday I did a loop and a half. Pretty much, Monday I was there from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. THAT's LONGER THAN SCHOOL!! Wow, yeah, my only reconciliation is that I've made some very good money in three days. :) Oh, and I found another twelve golf balls for my collection. :) Yeah...OK, I got to go do the dishes...

The Avengers

I saw "The Avengers" directed by Joss Whedon sarring Robert Downy Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo...blah blah blah... Anyway, I thought it had a ton of great action, but little to none plot was involved. I mean, yes, it's cool how Thor and Hulk and Captain America fight against numerous odds t save a city, but there's nothing besides action. And action by itself doesn't make a great movie, but it did have some awesome comedic references and dialogue. I LOVE Iron man now that he's not a snob I am that kind of person that needs many different things like emotions, death, betrayal, romance, and loss to complete a movie. SO yeah, that's my opinion. I know not everyone will agree with that, but I know specifically what I like and do not appreciate in a movie. :) GO see it for yourselves in order to see what I mean. It just doesn't have a ton of movie home quality. "The Avengers" is just another heroes with special powers vs. villains and aliens and its just another Transformers.

The Vow

Oh, in addition to watching Star Trek I: The Motion Picture (Today), yesterday, I watched "The Vow." Along with "Chronicle," The Avengers," and "Battleship" which I will write about later. :) Anyway, "The Vow" is a romantic flick about this guy, Leo, whose wife wakes up from a car crash and remembers her life only up to a point before she met him. Anyway, this devastated husband tries EVERYTHING to try and make her remember, including dating her again to win her love again, but nothing comes back and they eventually face the fact that she's better off with her parents and former fiance that she remembers. But she learns the secret of why she left her old life behind and moved in to the city and married Leo. A horrible secret that her parents hid from her hoping she would forget forever. It is so sad and emotional that I was in tears. And yes, DON"T JUDGE! I am mature enough that I can have an appreciation for many different types of movies....of I'm just a schmuck. :) Either one works. :P Anyway, I recommended it to Jo ("Friends" Page) because she LOVES the Titanic. :) I loved this movie mostly because of the true, unadulterated loyalty and dedication that Leo has towards Paige, his wife. And how he tries and tries and tries until she finally gives him a "push" away. The love portrayed in this movie should be an example to all those people who are to selfish to work through their marriage problems, but just get a divorce. I mean, if you had extenuating circumstances like marital unfaithfulness or violence, then of course divorce is a perfectly reasonable answer. But, oh, I was just in tears. I encourage anyone who is mature to go see it. It had its funny moments and its really heart-touching. So stop calling me a schmuck and go see it. :) Definitely on my favorites list.

PS: The guy Leo, also played "Duke" in G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra

Star Trek I: The Motion Picture

Yea! I just watched the first Star Trek movie! I had never seen any of them before tonight and "Wow," was it great. I mean, some parts took FOREVER because the U.S.S. Enterprise moves 10 mph slower than a turtle across the screen. :) Seriously, they could have cut half an hour off the movie just by moving the ship faster. The acting was that of a middle school play with no emotion, just stoic faces. Yeah, today, this kind of technology is boring and common and the idea normal. To think that this was the biggest science fiction thing people had ever seen back then? Ouch, it would suck to be them. But overall it was a good movie. I loved Spock; he's cool. And it had a great plot. I mean, who can think up a story that involves a space probe/satellite made by humans, that is lost in a black hole and comes back with all the data in the universe 300 years later as a living mechanism that is searching for its creator? Who can think of the name V'Ger because the O, Y, and A, were smudged out from the original name Voyager 6? It's ingenious. I definitely don't put it on my favorites list, but it was worth watching. :)

I received the first 9 Star Trek's in this boxed set. I don't know why....My long lost hated ex-father Albert sent them to me....creepy! :) I decided not to throw them out because I have been wanting to watch these for a long time now. So...Star Trek I: The Motion Picture....*CHECK!

Seussical Party!!

Yippee! I never thought I would be so glad to hear those words, but it means that I can say goodbye to all of my seniro friends who are leaving one last time! And, were going to look at tons of photos and choose which ones we want. OK, so, also, its at the house that we had the last party which was HUGE! Not tall, just TONS of space. AH, the life of luxury...HAHA, jk, its just for a couple of hours, but I'm glad...I'm really happy. I'll add to this post once I get back, time to go! :)

Edit:

Ok, I'm back, wowza that was fun! Fantastic, we watched a movie, talked, shared old jokes, then had a major dance party where Jeff started stripping. He got pretty far, but we stop the song "I'm Sexy and I Know It" blaring on his car radio before anything major was showed. :D Yeah, not much happened, we just hung out and chatted most of the time...oh, and voted on what next years play would be. And we all sifted through the hundreds of photos that they had laid out for us to keep what we wanted. I took a big pile. I hope to turn them into a slide show...once I scan them all. Anyway, I don't know when it will be done, but I'll post it when it is...

Pimsleur Approach - Spanish

So, you know all of those pop up ads like this one...

Well, I'm getting so desperate in Spanish with bad grades and just not understanding it that I finally just spent the twenty bucks for the CD set. Well, I got it today and I just finished listening to the first session. Your suppose to listen to the CD for 30 minutes a day for ten days....I'm on day 1...Fun. Anyway, it was all about one little conversation you would have on a bus. I really hope this does the trick...I suck at Spanish. :) I guess I can tell you guys if it works or not. :P

Help!!

Does anyone know why my images are blocked?? I can't find out why! What's going on? Ugh!! Please, if you know anything about this, Help me! I don;t know why its doing this on all my images...I took most of them!! It's not like its copyright infringement or anything! What's the hell happened? Ugh, I'm furious! Pissed as you'll never know...better yet, does anyone know how to contact blogger?

EDIT: OK, I finally replaced all the pictures. But heres what happened, all of my pictures were replaced by black with a little no smoking sign without the cigarette...UGH! I wonder if it'll happen again

"Daddy's Day"

I encourage you to read the entire poem if you could. This touched me in ways I did not quite think possible. And I hope that it will do the same to you...

Please only read this once you've read the poem....
This is such a great reminder to all of us, not to judge based on a glimpse or a partial, but to try to look at the whole situation before assuming. I'm going to try to do that, I know I'll probably not make it. It's very hard to see something and not make conclusions in our head. But I'll try to see the whole situation and not be judgmental. Because you never know what extenuating circumstances might be behind something...just like the girl who came to "Daddy's Day" to share the story of how her dad died saving people when the twin towers fell...

Rooms

AWWWHH! I just finished an incredible book called Rooms, by James Rubart. Its comparable to a Ted Dekker book...I guess, but with way more of the light side and spirituality and God's eternal love and taking responsibility for your choices. In the book, a young man named Micah faces his past and turns his life around. His supporters against his demon haunting spirit are Rick, who actually turns out to be ------, and Sarah, the love of his life. His Great Uncle, Archie, whom he's never met, built him a house that both changes him and changes around him. Turns out, Micah lost six years of his memory thinking he worked at a software company which actually never happens. But the other people remember. Its just a great book. Well written, motivating, thought provoking, one of the best books I've ever read....I was engrossed in it for six straight hours. :) I highly recommend this to anyone no matter if they are trying to enhance their relationship with God, or just want a good read.

Science - Understanding Popcorn

Popcorn, isn't it just great? :)

The Fluffy little crunchy pieces, topped with butter, caramel, chocolate, white chocolate, or almost anything else. Perfect for a movie at home or at the theater. Orville Redenbacher's Microwaveable stuff. Oh, it just doesn't get much better. (Microwaveable popcorn trick below) But I want to explain exactly what happens to give you a fluffy popcorn kernel.

Most people think its just a little explosion which brings out the white puffy stuff. Essentially, that's true. But actually, (in a condensed form so I don't ramble forever) the little popcorn kernels hold tiny drops of water. When they are heated, the water vaporizes, turns into its gas form (water vapor), therefore applying more pressure to the shell of the kernel. Science 101, gas is less dense then solids and spreads out more. Since Pascal's Principle says that pressure in an object in equal on all sides no matter where the force is, it takes quite a while for the corn to pop. When it does, I guess you could call it an explosion...or starch. Starch is the white stuff you see when it pops. It is crammed up inside the kernel and when the shell breaks....PUFF! You get fluff!

Anyway, when you have those pieces of popcorn that don't pop, it means that the shell had a microscopic hole in it. So instead of the pressure building, enough of the water vapor escaped to prevent an explosion. Now for the Microwaveable popcorn trick for maximum coverage of popcorn.

It's simple. After listening to the pops (normally after 2 minutes) and taking the bag out, shake the bag before you open it! Shake it for twenty seconds and then open it. You will have almost every piece of popcorn covered in butter and it tastes so much better. Many people don't do this and are frustrated with the popcorn, but I mean, come on guys....this is a no-brainer.

That concludes our first "Science with Alex."
Tune in next time to learn about water craft and buoyancy.

Kitty Post #25

So we went up to my Grandma's house for Memorial weekend, and it turns out that....

My cat gets a little freaked out on car rides...

Salsa

No, no, no, no, and no. I know what your thinking, but this is not a video of me dancing and it NEVER will happen because, frankly, I don't dance. EVER! So don't ask. :P

Anyway, Tums is my best friend, yes, there you go. I'm talking about real salsa, like Pace and Ortega and Tostitos and Ragu....wait....my mom has just informed me that Ragu is not in fact salsa, but Spaghetti sauce. No wonder it tasted so odd with chips! XD I thought it was just because it expired like a month and a half ago. :P Anyway, moving on, I love salsa, but it always gives me awful heartburn for some reason, thus the Tums. Ever heard of them? They help heartburn just enough so that you get addicted to it...And the flavored ones are really tasty! So I am admitting that I have a problem, besides being high like every da.....

OMG! "Don't Stop Believing" is on...DANCE PARTY!!

4 minutes later....
Well that was invigorating. :) Really, don't judge me because you weren't here, and YOU didn't SEE it. It was fun and awesome, and I ka-blammed my pinky toe into the side of a dresser....nvrmd. Anyway...

Where was I? Oh yeah, I have a problem because I absolutely love salsa, but its painful. (Who ever knew that appetizers could be so dangerous?....well...besides Elliot, played by Christian Kane, on Season 1 Episode 7 of the great TV show "Leverage." Oh yeah, I need to end the parenthesis) There you go, happy? OK, anyway, on Leverage, he stuffs a spicy lemon appetizer into his opponents eyes knocking him out somehow. Yeah, that's the story...

Sorry if this makes no sense, but I feel kinda happy. :) And I'm just saying that I can't stop eating salsa, but it hurts, but I think its worth it....yeah.

Bug Off, Bee!

Hey, don't judge me....I just hate bees.

So, yeah, I was outside watering our garden with a hose, when a bee flew right past my face and I was like, What a Pimp! And then I saw it again over the grass and I focused the water spray at it.

Then it disappeared and I'm all like, Oh S**t! Cuz I though it was going to come back, like behind me and try to sting me since I bugged it. (Haha, bad pun)

Then I started twirling not-so-gracefully, just spinning actually, with the hose and trying to catch the bee with the water before it stung me because I had convinced myself to this point that it was intent on revenge.

Well, my mom came out and saw me spinning and randomly swatting the air with my free hand in hysterics because I hate bees (doesn't everybody?) and she thought that maybe I hate gotten hold of some alcohol and was mildly buzzed. (Hahaha, Also bad pun)

So yeah, then I eventually saw the bee again, or maybe a different one, and it wasn't even interested in me, just flying around a flower. But I, in my controlled hysteria, (Or not so much), tried to get him again, as if I hadn't learned my lesson already....wait...I didn't.

Anyway, I finally saw him (the bee) go down (on the ground) and momentarily diverted the water. I went over and saw him still twitching. Then I had a choice between being a bee killer or leaving him alone. You know, the life altering choice of "To bee, or not to bee." (HAHA! I'm good at this).

Then I chose and covered the hose hole with my now freezing finger and SSHSHSHHHHSHSHHSHH! The bee was gone! Then there was this foreboding sense of remorse....for a split second. Then I was like, HA! And yeah....it was fun. :)

Jocks vs. Nerds

------Jocks vs Nerds----
Round 1

Michael Jordan having "retired," with $40 million in endorsements, makes $178,100 a day, working or not.
If he sleeps 7 hours a night, he makes $52,000 every night while visions of sugarplums dance in his head.
If he goes to see a movie, it'll cost him $7.00, but he'll make $18,550 while he's there.
If he decides to have a 5-minute egg, he'll make $618 while boiling it.
He makes $7,415/hr more than minimum wage.
He'll make $3,710 while watching each episode of Friends.
If he wanted to save up for a new Acura NSX ($90,000) it would take him a whole 12 hours.
If someone were to hand him his salary and endorsement money, they would have to do it at the rate of $2.00 every second.
He'll probably pay around $200 for a nice round of golf, but will be reimbursed $33,390 for that round.
Assuming he puts the federal maximum of 15% of his income into a tax deferred account (401k), his contributions will hit the federal cap of $9500 at 8:30 a.m. on January 1st.
If you were given a penny for every 10 dollars he made, you'd be living comfortably at $65,000 a year.
He'll make about $19.60 while watching the 100 meter dash in the Olympics, and about $15,600 during the Boston Marathon.
While the common person is spending about $20 for a meal in his trendy Chicago restaurant, he'll pull in about $5600.
This year, he'll make more than twice as much as all U.S. past presidents for all of their terms combined.

Amazing isn't it?

However...
If Jordan saves 100% of his income for the next 450 years, he'll still have less than Bill Gates has today.

Round 1 Concluded

Caddie Training Day 7?

Ugh! Today was grueling! It was hot and depressing because...well....let me explain. Sixteen Caddie's train every day, different caddies each time. Our caddiemaster, Mr. Matte, has to incorporate all seventy caddies into nine training sessions EACH. I think we've had 30-35 training dates so far, I've only been to seven because that's all he signed me up for even though I was one of the first to sign up for the first nine days....whatever. Anyway, we have four golfers every time with four caddies to each golfer trading off with their bag every 3 holes. While one is carrying the golfers bag, the others are carrying Broadmoor golf bags with nothing but a few clubs. Anyway, I was fine for the first six holes, but when I carried the real bag, I almost died on the next hole. Grrr! I am soooo out of shape. I mean, I know my mom keeps saying that its just me filling out before I grow, but I feel disgustingly fat. :( Anyway, I've started a workout routine of lunges, squats, and these grueling squat things where you keep your heels together and stay on your toes. AHHHH!!! Yeah, I got like 32 lunges three minute rest, then another 37 lunges as my base score. I have yet to figure out my base scores for the other stuff. Anyway, I am going to commit to my working out plan with some slight upper body strengthening included....I hope I stick to it. Because if I can stick to it for a while, I'll have no problems out on the course. :) That would be a big relief, because out there....I get paid!

Graduation

Wow, scary stuff, almost as scary as the wrath of God and.....no, strike that, not even close. Maybe the tabasco sauce "Wrath of God." But anyway, I went to the class of 2012 graduation to see all of my senior friends leave. My mom wont even let me get a Facebook to talk to them at college. :( Sigh. Isn't that sad? Being left behind as most of your friends leave for a beginning of another life? Huh....weird. Just a weird feeling in general.

Anyway, I am going to be gone for two days to watch my Grandma's house while she's away. Fun! She's got a huge house, but doesn't allow you to do anything, like ride down the fluffy stairs in a sleeping bag, or use crushed ice, but now we can do all those things....Yippee! Anyway, I wont have access to a computer, so don't expect any posts. :) Bye!

Blackout

The dark clouds hides the spotted field of stars in the night sky. The lights of downtown provide a dim glow off in the distance, but other than that, there is no light, not even a street lamp. Odd for a Thursday night; odd and mysterious. Then in the window of a house across the way, a light passes over the window, then again, and again. Now normally that would indicate robbers in movies like "Home Alone" or the commercial for Allstate where Mayhem pretends to be a dog. (Don't worry, if you don't get it, it doesn't matter.) Then every house including this one has little flash light beams in the windows and people stream onto the streets to see why all of our electricity has gone out. HAHAHA! Yeah, last night we had a Blackout for our entire neighbor hood like 2 square miles. :) Neighbors congregated on the street, internet out, streetlights off, flashlights and candles pretty much. :) It lasted for, maybe half an hour, but we were afraid our food in the fridge (not powered) was going to spoil. It was fun. Except that I was in the middle of winning a Scrabble game....

Ginger Snaps

So, I was bored today, first day o summer vacation, so I made Ginger Snaps!! But since I had made them so many times, I put a twist on it. Bite-size ginger snaps! OMG their delicious! I really want to pass them out to all you guys. :) But, yeah, this is also a picture representing my "messing around" with the Google+ picture editing Picnik thing. :) Anyway, I can't do express mailing, but if you visit me in Colorado Springs.....no I'm so kidding. If you want my ginger snap recipe (Uses Molasses) just say so and I'll post it with instructions. Thanks!

Sophomore!/Google+

So, I guess I should probably announce that I'm finished with school and I'm technically a sophomore now. :) But I guess it hasn't really sunk in yet, and I've got a draining job the WHOLE summer so that puts a slight damper on things. Anyway, on to the important stuff...

So everyone go look at the page called "Me," and you will see a new picture of me. :) Now I know the picture isn't great, but I edited that picture on the new "Picnik" tools on Google+. They work great. The only thing I HATE is that they don't have any of the vignette or sepia or stuff, but you have to get creative to make up for it. You should all make a Gmail account and play around with the new program. Google is a mess right now, so it took me a while to find out how to and stuff, but I finally did and I think that pics pretty good.

Speaking of making a Gmail account. I insist even if you don't actually make one, you at least go far enough to see the form which you fill out. Then go to the gender/sex button and click it to see the options. Then tell me what you see by writing me a comment. I want to pique your curiosity so you actually go there and see it. :) So please please "make my day totally groovy" (as Reb says) and go look and comment. Thanks. :)

This is my new favorite YouTube video EVER!!! This guy has an amazing voice!

25 Things that Cat-Lovers Know.....

25 things that cat-lovers know, but wont admit. :) I own nothing.
- An aquarium is just interactive television for cats.
- Anything on the ground is a cat toy. Anything not there yet, will be.
- Dogs do what you tell them to do. Cats take a message and get back to you.
- Buy a dog a toy and it will play with it for ever.
Buy a cat a present and it will play with the wrapper for 10 minutes.
- A cat's motto is no matter what you've done wrong, always try to make it look like the dog did it.
- A cat bites the hand that won't feed it fast enough.
- Cats are rather delicate creatures and they are subject to a good many ailments,
but I never heard of one who suffered from insomnia.
- Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.
- Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit.
- Cats don't hunt seals. They would if they knew what they were and where to find them.
But they don't, so that's all right.
- Cats instinctively know the exact moment their owners will wake up.
Then they wake them 10 minutes sooner.
- Cats know what we feel. They don't care, but they know.
- Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.
- Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.
- Dogs believe they are human. Cats believe they are God.
- I had to get rid of my wife. The cat was allergic.
- I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.
- In a cat's eye, all things belong to cats.
- On the Internet, nobody knows you're a cat.
- One cat just leads to another.
- People that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
- Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel.
It's all true, and they have many other fine qualities as well.
- There are many intelligent species in the universe. They are all owned by cats.
- When I wash the cat, it takes me hours to get the hair off my tongue.
- You can always tell a cat, but you can't tell him much.

Tattoos

OK, yes, I know....tattos are "bad". But even though, I am going to get one when I'm older. I found the perfect design too. (Below) Anyway, as soon as I'm eighteen, I am finding a place that will do that for me....probably on my leg, twisted around it, or something cool, but not in a totally obvious place. :) So do any of you plan one experimenting with a tat when your older? If so, tell me about it. :) I'm not doing it for rebellion, rather as a test, like, just to see what its like. :P

My Limerick

We did a poetry project a while ago, and I was quite proud of my limerick that I made up, so I decided to post it. I LOVE it! And yes, I would like a compliment. HAHAHA jk. BTW, I did get a copyright for it. :) .....I think..... (0.o)

There once, long ago, was a tree,
Who was enormous, as giants can be,
The lord over all,
The big and the small,
Was toppled by naught but a flea.

The flea as was said about he,
Commanded an army of three,
A trio of beavers,
Big overachievers,
Who toppled the mighty old tree.
-Me

Oh, and here's one from last years poetry project.

There once was a crab who made stew,
And ever so loved to fondue,
So invited he did,
A few squid from Madrid,
And said, "Let the party ensue!"
-Me

Gutters

So I just finished cleaning out a neighbors gutter, and man do I wish I hadn't worn those pants. I got sap EVERYWHERE from climbing around on that roof. Man! Those were my fav carpenter pants! Yeah, but I got paid twenty bucks for it. :) The sad thing is that my sisters will be babysitting this summer while I caddy. Now they make as much or more than I do for looking after the AMAZING little kids in our neighborhood....easy as fricking pie! While I have to walk four miles for five hours with a 50-60 pound golf bag on my bag trying to keep up with my golf, clean the ball, attend the flag, and keep track of where each ball goes to make MY money. I mean, I know that this is going to look great on applications and it has better outcomes in the future, but right now I'm more than a little pissed. While I was cleaning the gutters (WOW NASTY btw) my sister went to help a garage saledown the street and got PAID for sitting there taking peoples money!! UGH! Yeah, ok, that was venting...sry there.

Welcome Rebecca!

Hey everyone, say hi to Rebecca. :) Well Rebecca, thank you so much for joining the little but growing community here on Random-nes Personified. :P Yeah, scratch that about growing, maybe my one person every 5 months but that's it. Neighbor Suicide Threat

OK, so I walk home from school, and right next to my house I see this boy trying to catch a loose dog with a collar. I try to help, but this police car shows up and the officer asks the kid if it was his dog. I say that I think it's from the house next door. So as me and the boy catch it, another police car pulls up and another cop steps out. They both approach the house while I (the kid left) walked behind them with the dog. Anyway, they start grilling the guys inside about harboring a wanted fugitive. Pretty soon another three police cars arrive. It was pretty fantastic. :P Then I offered to keep the dog tied up at our house and they agreed, so I did. Then I got on our roof and they had me keep a lookout for anyone trying to escape through the backyard and stuff. Now you can imagine all of the ideas flying through my head. Guns, shooting back, court, witness, me having to give a testimony, getting shot at, blah blah blah. The fantasies of a fourteen year old kid. Not what happened. The cop covering the back was really nice and told me all about it. Apparently, this was their 62nd visit to the residence for numerous different things. This time, was a girl who was committing suicide. Anyway, back on the roof, I relayed some things for them and then the fire trucks and ambulance came. They took the body out, she was still alive, but barely, and rushed her to the hospital. The neighbors are now facing time for harboring a fugitive. Yep. It was pretty cool in all, and afterwards, that the officers thank me for my help. Me! AHHHH!! :) OK, anyway, it was amazingly cool....I love seeing dead people....why is that? She wasn't dead of course, but whatever.
