Sad Endings and New Beginnings

...Because Its the last night before Junior Year
...Because I've already been contemplating this
...Because I feel like a fresh start
...Because I don't know what I was thinking when I named this blog
...Because I want to change the way I do things
...Because I don't want to be tied down by old me in eighth grade
I am going to discontinue Random-nes Personified.

I do this for many reasons, many more than I listed, but I feel drab with the way this has gone and has been going. I want to make it more focused around pictures. More Interesting. Not just about random stuff (although I'm sure I'll have more than enough in this new project) Anyway, I have really enjoyed sharing myself to you few people in the crowd these last years, but now its time to go. :) Curtains finally closing.

If you liked this blog and would also like to follow my new one click HERE, if not, thank you for sticking with me for so long and I'm sorry to see you go. Goodbye!

These are the writings of the blog Random-nes Personified. It's previous mission, to explore strange new possibilities. To watch new movies and make reviews on them. To boldly spread opinion that no one's ever heard before.

Junior Year of High School

Wow, can you believe it? I started this journal in 8th grade, and now I'm entering my third year of high school! What a long way we've come! I read some of my posts from years ago and frankly, was disgusted by my obvious lack of writing experience, grammar, voice, and poise in my writing. Yeesh! :P However, here I am, my last night of summer before once again joining the early risers 5 days a week for the next 38 weeks, 1=266 days...i believe. Anyway, I can honestly say that I'm very prepared, we had people give us a bunch of school supplies from the church.

Not quite sure what the watermelon is for, but it sure is delicious!
I used Muzy to arrange some pictures, but it wouldn't make an album.
I had to snip it so sorry for the bad resolution.

ASUS VivoTab Smart ME400

So, as a reward for working all summer and as a needed tool for my upcoming Junior year of high school, I decided to get a tablet, AHHHHHHH!!! Anyway, its an ASUS VivoTab that I'm really excited about, especially because, after a week of waiting, ITS FINALLY HERE!!

It worked amazing for about a day. The display was beautiful, pictures crisp, Windows 8 was amazing, apps were fun, typing was easy with my awesome Transleeve keyboard and cover that folded into a stand. I was so happy, until it started crashing, not waking up. Eventually, It wouldn't even turn on so I could erase my stuff, so I just sent the thing back. Spent a little extra money, and my iPad 3 should be here by Friday.
A little disappointing, but I had a blast on the phone with Amazon customer support getting all the stuff figured out. I will NEVER buy from another store. Those people were so great, helpful, friendly. Best customer service experience EVER!! ASUS and Lenovo on the other hand...hours on the phone, no one spoke English, problems weren't fixed, just kept getting transferred...overall nightmare. Way to go Amazon!

Anyway, I hope the iPad is an improvement...

Lucy Wilde Phone #

So Has anyone seen Despicable Me 2 yet?? I was watching it, and its hysterical, very good, but I noticed something. Now someone has probably "discovered" this before, but on the card the Agent Lucy Wilde gives Gru is a real phone number, not 555-XXXX, but an actual phone number. Anyway, I called it and it actually had the voicemail for Lucy Wilde!! WOAH!!

TRY IT:
The Number is (626) 584-5723

Tell me if you try to call it. :)

Cousin Hannah

So out of state Aunt Ke-Ke, Uncle Matthew, and 4 cousins Hannah, Johnanthan, Sarah, and Levi, have been over since Saturday night of last week. :) They're from Oklahoma and we've had a great time with them. Anyway, Hannah is a 15-year-old amateur photographer, so she took this picture of me. :)

Loved it so much that now its my profile picture. :) Anyway, she's an amazing photographer and a fantastic artist, and I'm sure I'll be putting up more pictures by the end of the week. She doesn't have a Facebook or a blog, but you can check her Instagram out HERE. My name is at the bottom of the picture not because I own it, but because the picture is of me (and she gave me all the rights to it). Tell me...can I pull off a fohawk???

Sweet Sixteen

So My Sweet 16th Birthday was the 21st of June. Normally I hate birthdays, but this one was fun. :) Had a friend over, overall good day. But yeah. IM 16 NOWW!! :)

I am consistently amazed by this sight even though I see it every day...

Message in a Bottle (Opinions?)

So... I have an idea. A crazy idea, but an idea nonetheless. I have never been to the ocean, but I want to. I don't know how I would get there, or if I even would, but I want to release a bottle with a message in them into the water. The message would say something like, "This was sent at <time> on the <day> of <month> in the year <year> from <location>" and would have a short, random message as sort of a confirmation code. Then it would have the URL to a new blog I would make for the message(s) that I send out... and the people who find it could confirm it there. :) Wouldn't that be amazing?? Does anyone here live near the ocean and could help me with this? Or better yet, have access to a boat? Please anyone who reads this comment below. Thanks!

The Book of Eli

Book of eli poster.jpgSome SPOILERS!!

Wow, another spectacular performance by Denzel Washington! This movie is not something I would recommend to everyone, but I certainly enjoyed it. It is a post-apocalyptic movie so it is practically swimming in language and morbid, dark circumstances. Skeletons, "many", guns and fighting, "Yep", drinking "Some", Language "Defintely". It is the story of a man, Eli, called by God who struggles to cross what's left of the United States to deliver the last copy of the King James Bible to a people collecting, protecting, and copying everything they can salvage from the world before the war. The war, as it seems, punctured a hole in the ozone layer and the sun burned most of the planet and it inhabitants. Now scattered groups of people fight and kill to survive on anything leftover. This movie is not something everyone would enjoy, but it does provide a whole new perspective on the end of the world, God and his covering over his followers, blind faith, and the power of the Bible.

Comments Resolved

Thank you so much Rebecca! I went into comment settings and approved the comments for the past month! ...I honestly thought no one was reading this anymore. :) Anyway, I turned off the moderation approval thingy so it shouldn't happen again. That was Frustrating!

Thanks again Rebecca!

Bloglovin'

So apparently there's this new thing called Bloglovin' where you can access most blogs under one account and like/follow them. Gone are the day's of creating a tumblr and blogspot accounts just so you can follow your friends. :) The only thing that ticks me off a bit is the fact that my Bloglovin' account is already made with my profile and stuff without my permission.... I feel like there going to get majorly sued for that one day. Anyway, can anyone explain to me what I'm suppose to do with it?

The Incline (5-30-13)

When summer started, I only talked with a few people in school, but never actually hung out with them. When school ended I asked myself should I ever try or is it kind of late to include myself in a real social group. Anyway, I decided to do something dramatic. I joined a group on Facebook that planned to do The Incline. If you don't know the incline, its here in Colorado Springs and is a Mile of railroad ties going straight up a mountain. Pretty much, It's REALLY difficult and I thought I would have to chicken out halfway through because I hadn't exercised in forever! But I went and it turned out only five of us did it, but it was really cool. We spent about 3-4 hours hiking and it was great, but I thought it would end there. It wasn't, our next ascent is planned for tomorrow morning. But that small group baby-fed me into a social life. It was great easing into a group and not having a bunch of people at once. So Roni, you have to throw yourself out there, even if it may be embarrassing, and give it 10 minutes of crazy. You never know what it might start...

This is kind of a response to Roni's post "Introverts Anonymous"
Go Check out her blog HERE

Anyway, the people who went are Bree, yes, tattoo person Post Here, Matt, met him there, Connie, longtime school friend, and Josiah, the guy who's job I took over for the summer while he goes on missions trips. (More information about him and his blog at the bottom)

Anyway, This is Josiah's picture of me on the Incline. Just for reference, we're about a third of the way up. Yeah, its LOOONNNGG! But here is what it looks like (below).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those of you who don't know Josiah....all of you....he has recently started up a blog called the
Quest for Anduril (since he's a Lord of the Rings fanatic). It's probably going to be a lot like Random-nes Personified so I highly encourage you to check it out and follow him...once it's up and running.

Glen Eyrie Orientation

Wow, not much to say except that instead of work, I had to sit through a 7 hour orientation at the Glen Eyrie. Mostly he was repeating stuff that we had already figured out. Anyway, the one good part was the Scavenger Hunt all around the Glen Eyrie in the different cabins, stations, and all throughout the castle. It was great fun driving and running everywhere with my newest friends there, Alicia, Nathan, and oh whats her name.... Megan? Malia? Something like that. :) Overall, good time, except when we were suppose to be learning. :) OK, I'm exhausted, and I'm doing the Incline again tomorrow. Over and Out.

Hey Everyone,
Yes, Random-nes Personified looks different. I am going to be messing around with its design for the next week or so. Also, as a sneak-peek, I might be renaming the blog but keeping the URL. You never know, I just know that it needs some change. :) Thanks!

Glen Eyrie

So this summer, instead of returning to my horrendous caddying job, I decided to search for something elsewhere. Anyway, about a month ago, I went to my Senior friend, Michelle's birthday party. I didn't want to go, but eventually agreed and it was a lot of fun. We ended up destroying one of their walls drywall when a very delirious Sarah M. crashed into it. And we played a ton of Charades and.... Nevermind... Back on track, I met two brothers there. Micah, and his old brother Josiah. I think Micah is one year younger than me and Josiah is two years older. Anyway, I don't know why, but I found him on Facebook and friended him. Now let me just go on record to say that I NEVER FRIEND PEOPLE I JUST MET. Like EVER. But I did, and I didn't know why. SO about two weeks ago, Josiah asks all of his FB friends if anyone needs a job for the summer. Right? Total Act of God! Anyway, for the past week I have taken over his position as a dishwasher at Glen Eyrie while he goes away for the summer on mission trips. The guys I work with are (mostly) awesome and its been a blast so far. Tiring, but a blast. :) So now I am a dishwasher at Glen Eyrie.

Now, here comes my bragging part, for those of your who don't know of Glen Eyrie, ITS A CASTLE!! Yep, a real, stone castle turned into a vacation spot. :) Here's some pics...

Yeah, I know right!?
It also considers ton of bighorn sheep and wild geese
as pests because there's so many. :)

All in all, it's a really great place to work, but here's three bonus kickers...

  1. They give all the AMAZING leftover food to the employee's so we get free breakfast and lunch and dinner during our respective shifts. (I am breakfast and lunch)
  2. We are given free access to the 800 acres of hiking land that they own around it. Truly beautiful with towering red rocks and beautiful views.
  3. AND it is completely Christian owned! You have to believe to work there and all the employees are the best coworkers I could imagine. :)
Thank you Josiah!

A Good Year

WOW! Time has flown this school year! I just finished up my 2nd year of high school today, and got my yearbook. Sophomore year...the time to be sophomoric (means childish, really, look it up), and now I have to leave it behind for what will likely be the hardest school year of my life (Junior). It was a good year. Filled with good days, bad days, odd days, sleepy days, sports practice days, friend drama days, last minute project days, cramming for tests days, plant analysis days, presentation days, speech days, research days, snow days, rainy days, evacuation because of flooding days, and so many more. I'm gonna miss my English teacher, completely insane but adorable, who after 27 years of teaching at this school is leaving to find a job closer to where she lives. I'm gonna miss my international friends, new and old, some of whom are leaving. I'm gonna miss my senior friends graduating this year.

Yes, it's been a good year, a year of really discovering who I am and what other people think is wrong with me. But no matter. My page of Yearbook signings is considerably more blank than previous years, but the few comments that are there are so much more heartfelt. I hope your school year has been just as great as mine has been. There may have been incidents and bad experiences, but overall you have to admit that the time was a good one because, think about it, you will never have to experience it again. Now you can look back on this time and laugh about the bad times, the depressing times, and admit that, yes, it was a good year.

The Impossible (2012)

"Maria, Henry and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her."
-Rotten Tomatoes (81% rating)

The Impossible is one of the greatest, most emotional, and most heart-wrenching and joy-filled movies I've ever seen in my life. It follows the TRUE TRUE TRUE story of a father (Ewan McGregor, Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars), a mother (Naomi Watts, King Kong), and their three boys on a Christmas vacation to Thailand during the most disastrous tsunami in the world's history. This is a must watch for all, though I do recommend parental supervision because they do show one slight display of nudity to show the extent of the mothers injuries. This movie is a perfect combination of action, sorrow, reunions, and is guaranteed to bring tears to the eyes of even the most hardened heart. :) It's fantastic! GO see for yourself!

Fun Fact: This will blow you away, but this is the oldest boy (Tom Holland's) first time acting in a film... we've got a new legendary actor in the making.

Small Picture?? Anyone...

SO you guys know that small picture that show when your on someone's list that you've subscribed to their blog? Mine is this boring blue anonymous picture... How do I change that? Anyone?

Tattoo Opinion

I am so sorry for not posting anything in forever! I feel awful about not finishing the Photo Challenge. I don't know what happened, I think I just lost interest. I have all the photos, but I am just to lazy to write whole new posts and put Alexander John on the pictures....Whatever.

Anyway, I have something far more important to talk about... Tattoo's. This is a conversation I just had with one of my friends on Facebook... (((Stuff in three brackets is my commentary for you guys)))
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bree: What do u think about tattoos?

Me: Um, what I know as a Christian perspective or me generally??

Bree: Cuz when I turn 18 I'm getting one on my back to angel wings and timer in the middle and it's going to have a verse on the timer. I'm trying to figure out what people will think because my mom is freaking out
she says is worse than a tramp stamp which I fail to see how

Me: Well, I honestly think its a way to express yourself, like you should be able to do what you want to your body (if its not too large and if its not visible and distracting) If your just getting a tattoo to look cool, or to prove your a grown up....or to prove anything (which I feel like this is) its a waste of time and you WILL regret it later. However, if you are like my friend ******, he loves cars, so he got a cool, small tattoo of his car on his shoulder. Its just a part of who he is and is very personal to him, not more than 4 people know about it. This angel wings timer deal honestly just sounds like its there to look cool...

Me: But my response for what I know as a Christian (would be that our bodies are a temple of God and as a Christian we have surrendered our bodies, minds, and thoughts to him for him to use for his glory. We are to be examples and leaders in these times of Islam and atheism. A tattoo is not necessarily bad, but the outward appearance of a tattoo infers something else entirely. Today tattoo's are part of gang styles and hip people and cool druggies and such, not usually associated with a Christian. So a tattoo could be totally fine to you, but it could give off the wrong impression to others, and because I've now warned you to this, deliberately doing it is defiance and sinning in the eyes of God. Because we are causing our brothers and sisters to stumble with our outward appearance. Just like Paul says in 1 Corinthians 8 (((We had to memorize 1 Corinthians 8 in Bible Class))) how he will eat the food appropriate at someones house so as not to offend them and keep the outward appearance of ourselves, and therefore God, clean and pure.

Me: Yes, I did just make both of those up, so if they make no sense, sue me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did I say the right thing? What should I have done instead? I don't really want her to get a tattoo for show, but I think something small and personal is fine... Does anyone else think this wings and timer deal looks as a way to get attention? Please tell me everything and anything you think of.

Thanks!

Emma was Upside Down

My sister Emma is crazy, laughable, wild, entertaining, and most of all, hilarious. Tonight my mom told (after we joked about the possibility of her being dropped on her a head as a baby) her at the dinner table that she was upside down in the womb for most of the pregnancy. To that, she looked thoughtful and said, "So what if my brain was in my feet?" To that we all cracked up big time and all talked about how that would explain the brain damage and my mom said, "So you can get up in the middle of class and jump up and down. Then when they ask you about it, you can say, 'I'm thinking!' " Yeah, we're just weird like that.

PS: Then Emma went on to say that my other sister would look funny with two pencil's through her eyes (all in fun) and what if we were born with huge ears like cabinets. It would provide a whole new meaning to the famous "Night time, day time" bird on the English video. :) Well, we now know who will be going into facial reconstruction in the near future... XD

Lions Heart Tim Tebow Event

So! Last night I went to go see Tim Tebow at the Broadmoor Hotel! He's a fantastic speaker! At first I didn't want to go, it just didn't seem exciting, but my Grandma had already bought me a ticket. So I went and it turned out to be amazing. We were all seated in a HUGE ballroom ten of us around a table (There were 200 tables) and listened to a local radio talk show host ask Tebow questions that some kids at the school hosting it has written down for him. It was awesome and he had a powerful message. "We serve a BIG God, so we can have BIG goals." It was awesome, and the food was amazing. :) Chicken with potatoes and steamed vegetables. Yum!
It was really awesome and now I get to brag that I have been to one of his events. :)

Anyway, here's the article from the Gazette. And here's a picture of the program they gave out...

 Peace Out!

Comment Spamming

OK, I gotta a small problem. I just got comment spammed like three days ago, by scores of automatic messages and link to URL's and random Pharmaceutical websites. So I am forced to put up the "confirm your a human" thing before you post a comment. I know its obnoxious and it makes you not want to post anything, but sorry. It was an anonymous user and I've deleted the comments, but yeah, changes happening...

AND PLEASE LOOK AT MY PREVIOUS POST WITH THE VIDEO!

How to Eat Like an Animal

I know this is a Facebook viral video at the moment, but for you guys who haven't seen this video, it is a must. I swear this will make you laugh. :)

Biggest Pepsi Can EVER!!

So, since it's a snow day and you guys aren't out of school yet... :P ....I had some extra time to build the largest Pepsi soda can EVER! ...On Minecraft! Check it out...

Extra Credit for making the can already opened?

From inside the top looking down.

From inside at the bottom looking up.

Snow Day!

WE GOT A SNOW DAY!! WE GOT A SNOW DAY!! I got my face! And a cup o' hot chocolate!

NANANANANANA! :P And we didn't even get snow! No snow, at all! (Which sucks...) But the day off made up for it! :) SO this morning I woke up early to a text from my coach saying that we had the day off. So I turn off my alarm and go back to sleep only to wake up to my mom 30 minutes later with breakfast ready. See, we don't have TV to announce it and we figured out that she forgot to plug in the phone yesterday. :) So she had no idea and I've been up ever since. We made a fire in our new house fireplace and its soooo warm and cozy. :D Oooh! I've got pictures!

Looks a bit like roast beef doesn't it?

At least this part does... :)

Sparks when mom threw in another log.

Not the best pic quality, but it looks cool. :)

Oh, and there's my hot chocolate.

And Larry the Cucumber fighting a bull...

Back on track... So yeah, As you can see...I absolutely LOVE snow days! :) Don't we all?? Da best! OK, I'll post something later today.

April Photo Month - Week 1

So, sorry this took a little longer than I expected, but I had to go out and take another picture for Day 5 - After Dark real quick. These pictures are owned entirely by me and may be used only if the name/logo at the bottom stays visible. Do Not Crop! There has been no editing of the pictures except to resize and place the name/logo at the bottom. I included the "Day", a "Short Caption", and "What I Liked about it" (because I am not a photographer by any means and I really liked how these pictures came out). Enjoy! :)

Day 1 - Self Portrait
Quick picture before school...
I did not mess with the lighting at all, but it turned out REALLY good! :)

Day 2 - What You Wore
After Volleyball practice in my sister's long mirror...
Nothing much, pretty ordinary picture.

Day 3 - Clouds
Short hike with friends...
I LOVE how the trees kind of border the sky! :)

Day 4 - Something Green
The only patch of grass in our yard...
Now I do not even know how this turned out so good, but I'm VERY proud! :)

Day 5 - After Dark
Lost the original photo, quick snapshot of telephone pole...
This turned out great, but I don't know why it looks green. O.o

Day 6 - Obsession
I don't really have an obsession, but I really like playing volleyball...
I saw the pole and...Boom! Picture Time! I love the rustic look!

Day 7 - Changes to Come
I didn't really understand this category, so...
I have the urge to change this rubix cube back to it original setting,
and I proceeded to do just that. :)
