New Computer/ No more Jalapandro

Seeing as how I worked over the summer, all of my muulah went toward this new computer that I'm posting on right now; the Lenovo Z580 - 1 TB, 8 GB RAM, 14 inch screen, purple stainless steel-look, $1,200 dollar laptop that I got for 40% off ($700) with their back-to-school sale. OMG it's amazing. My other laptop from the 1700's have 20x less RAM, and 16x less memory. Yeah, and this has an all new Nvidia video card....awesome, with a 3rd generation Intel7 Processor for those of you who know what that means and can be jealous. :) Here's a Picture from the site...

....accept it has a nice, slight purple tint....I think it looks kind of purple in the pic... Anyway, it works like a charm....I LOVE it! And I think a good percentage of my pride comes from the fact that I worked hard for it and bought it all by myself....Yippee! OK, I might be posting more today so watch out. :) Oh, and by the way, with a new comptuer and all, I made completely new email accounts and connected everything, so my email now for this will be my email and my real name, Alex. No more Jalapandro.....

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

OK, so today, me and "the good sister," Emma, were craved chocolate covered pretzels, but store bought ones are pricey. SO we realized that its just pretzels dipped or covered in melted chocolate and hardened, so we found three different types of chocolate chips in the cabinet, milk chocolate, white chocolate, and butterscotch. The butterscotch were about two years old, but sealed and still good. Then we realized that we didn't have pretzels. Well, it took us about five minutes, but we finally found an old, OLD, OOOOLLDDD bag of Chex Mix in the back of the pantry and the pretzels were only a little stale. SO we melted the chocolate, chucked the Chex Mix pretzels in there, scooped them out with a spoon, and threw them in the freezer on a plate......

Pictures Coming....

Not the best picture, I know, but I think you can see it....Oh! and we put sprinkles on the white ones and they tasted like those yummy animal crackers. :D

First Day of Sophomore Year

SO today was the first day of my tenth grade school year. It was a half day. And afterwards, the student Senate had this AMAZING barbeque with the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had in my life! It was 6 bucks for the meal, and I didn't bring any money. SO I came and hung out with my friends Meg, Reah, Asia, Sarah, Matt, Emily (9), Shannon and Jenny. Then they announced that they had so much food that the already paid people could come back for seconds. SO I had Jenny go up and get a plate for me. :D Its was really good! Then I sat around and chatted with people....blah blah blah....it was very entertaining. Afterward, I played volleyball with Reah, Shannon, and taught Meg volleyball.... It was hysterical! We were laughing the entire time! THen only me and Meg were left, and since she stays there for an extra hour and a hlaf bored, I just stayed and we played volleyball more and were bored. :) My first period class is something that I really enjoy, so that's a great thing....it's called Web Design 1. :) SO I hope it helps me with my blog design, not that it isn't already fabby if I do say so myself....

Boggle

A BIT INAPPROPRIATE FOR LITTLE KIDS!!!

So me and my mom were playing Boggle, the game where you shake the cubes around and see how many words you can make out of the letters...the equivelent of BitWordy, the Facebook App. Anyway, she saw these six letters....

Photo

....she said, "Its Faggot!" XD

The Amazing Spiderman

I watched "The Amazing Spider-man" and I can honestly say its one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was AMAZING!! Andrew Garfield is an AMAZING actor! This Spider-man is completely different from the other ones and not just a remake. I mean, not to be prejudiced or whatever, but I never liked Tobey McGuire as the last Spider-man. Anyway, I absolutely LOVED it and I would recommend it to anyone, anytime, anywhere...except maybe at a funeral. :) But yeah, I loved all of the actors, Gwen was great, the new story was great. And it is definitely going on my favorites. Very Impressed!

Chronicle

So recently I saw the movie Chronicle....actually a while ago, but I haven't posted in weeks. Anyway, I would not recommend it for kids, or adults. Its pretty much just a teen movie. The camera view for the whole time is from the camera in the hands of the main character which is OBNOXIOUS!! The story is good....I guess. I thought it was a bit dark though, darker than I really enjoy. It is awesomely cool though, the fact that they can fly, the telekinesis, and the process in which they learn their powers extensions. I really liked the black dude (main guy) though; I didn't like how Andrew killed him. And its a bit unrealistic, the fact that Andrew's mind breaks (completely snaps) over his home life. Its bad, yes, but there are so many other stories that make his like a children's tale that it seems a bit weak of Andrew....just my opinion. Overall, I think its not worth paying money to watch. But that's for you decide for yourself. I would not recommend this to others.

Taking Apart My Computer...Again

------------------------------- Before Story ---------------------------------
To see the whole thing, let's start several years ago when my family went to visit my dad in Pennsylvania while he was on a short parole. He was staying at his moms house and (needless to say) it was hell being there. The only good thing was that during that time, my CREEPY/CRAZY Grandma funded a trip for our whole family to visit Washington DC for a day. It was fantastic! The bus was great, the monuments were amazing, the National Archives were incredible, and the Space Museum was breath-taking (at that age). The only disappointing part was the walk, the line at the archives, and the fact that we didn't get to visit the Library of Congress. Anyway, we didn't have a camera, but my dad let me take pics and vids on his little phone. Now I had forgotten that completely until four months ago I was digging through my electronics box and found it lying there. Then I remembered him telling me to keep it when we boarded the plane home. So I took the memory card out of the phone and stuck it in a little slot in my computer that said it read memory cards. Well, it was too small and I ended up accidentally pushing it all the way into the computer slot thing...wherever. I meant to take it appart then but got distracted and forgot all about it...

---------------------------------- Now --------------------------------------
So last night, I was bored, it was 11:15 pm, I couldn't go to sleep, and my whole family was snoring. (Yes, literally) So I decided to finally extract it from the computer because I really wanted to see the pictures from DC. So with as little noise as I possibly could, I fetched a screwdriver. The sound was catastrophic. I ended up dropping the screwdriver from four feet above the dryer and it echoed through the house. The dog came in and the cat followed, but thankfully no people. I waited a few minutes before moving and went back to my room. Taking the thing apart was fairly simple...

...but the SD Card reader is wedged under the motherboard, the green plate. So without dislodging the motherboard (or destroying it [too much]) I destroyed the SD slot trying to get the card out.

...for those of you who don't know, that is not the way the SD slot is suppoe to work. I accepted the fact that I could never use it again and kept digging and finally the Memory Card was in sight...

...and I got it! Yea...

...So then the problem was putting the computer back together. I didn't think it would be all that hard, but just to prove me wrong, it gave me some problems. The first of which being the (removed) disc, CD player...

...I broke the showing outside part off while trying to force it into its compartment. It wouldn't fit.so with some extra screws and a snap part, I finally connected the two parts again, but still couldn't get it into the slot. I managed to cram it in there, but I still don't know if it works. Hang on real quick...

(Sticking in the disc closest at hand, a Chessmaster 2000 disc)

The answer is no, my disk drive is no longer being recognized by the computer, I'll have to fix that. I finally got most of the computer back together...

...when I encountered my next problem. A slight deformity with the keyboard...

...That's not the way a keyboard is suppose to look ladies and gentlemen. When I turned it over, I freaked out and frantically searched for a sign of the cause. After 5 minutes I realized that I had put the long screw in the short screw hole and it had pushed the keys up. Yeah, fun. I ended up doing the same thing in another place and now the touchpad keyboard is unresponsive. Then I felt like I was done, everything looked swell. So I plugged it in and turned it on hoping that a flood of power wouldn't explode the demolished SD unit, or the disc drive, or my touchpad, or maybe the battery....pretty much my whole computer. :) Thankfully, nothing exploded and besides not booting up and shutting down every once in a while, it seems to be functioning properly. :D

.....And yes, my desktop picture is my cat in the Spearmint plant. :D
